Job Description

Jr. Java Developer Location Remote in United States : Java Developer Location: Lake Mary, Florida or Remote Level : Junior Summary This is an entry-level software developer position responsible for assisting in the design, development, testing, and maintenance of Java-based systems. As a Junior Java Developer, you will be working under the guidance of senior developers and software architects. Your primary responsibilities will include: Responsibilities
  • Writes application code from documented functional specifications to meet business requirements.
  • Estimates effort before beginning tasks, focusing on learning to improve estimation skills.
  • Thoroughly tests application code for errors and ensures conformance with requirements.
  • Create and execute unit tests and participate in code reviews.
  • Identify and rectify defects and bugs in the software.
  • Receives and accepts mentoring from senior developers and architects.
  • Completes tasks within documented scope, time and schedule.
  • Learns and follows Civix software development life cycle, standards and best practices.
  • Continuously learn and stay up-to-date with the latest Java technologies and best practices
  • Utilizes effective verbal and written communication with team members.
  • Maintains existing applications as well as creates new functionality.
  • Self-motivated and goal oriented.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of object-oriented programming (OOP) and design patterns.
  • Knowledge of Java frameworks and libraries (Spring, Spring MVC, Spring Security, Hibernate and others).
  • knowledge of web development technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
  • knowledge of Relational Database, SQL and stored procedures (MS SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle)
  • Experience with a variety of development tools including Eclipse IDE, Git version control, Azure DevOps, Jira.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, attention to detail and teamwork skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Angular/React/Vue, mobile application development and Micro Services architecture is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure) and GIS is a plus.
  • 1-2 years of work experience using above skillset is a plus.
