We are hiring a Janitor to our growing team! The Janitor of the Millard School will be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing all areas within their region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sweeps, vacuums, mops, scrubs, waxes, and polishes the floors 
  • Sometimes using ladders, dust and washes walls, cleans ceilings and dust/polishes light fixtures
  • Moves cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates, and equipment to clean areas. May remove stains from such surfaces as rugs, drapes, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions.
  • May also sweep sidewalks
  • Empty trash
  • Clean and stock restrooms
  • Follow established safety regulations in the use of equipment and supplies at all times
  • Inspects storage rooms, utility, and janitorial closet, etc., for upkeep and supply control
  • Requisitions all supplies and equipment and maintains adequate inventory levels to provide a clean, safe and comfortable environment
  • Coordinates repair needs
  • Perform and document routine inspection and maintenance activities 
  • Carry out heavy cleansing tasks and special projects
  • Notify management of occurring deficiencies or needs for repairs
  • Performs other job duties and projects as directed

Key Experience and Education Needed:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Self motivated
  • Good communication skills

  • Ability to work as a team 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Ability to interact with staff in a professional manner
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Ability to prioritize work- and work-related responsibilities
  • Ability to exhibit professional and courteous behavior, consistent with the ARC mission statement, when interacting with persons of varying backgrounds and education levels to create a safe and healthy relationship with clients served
