We have an opening for an Intern – Property & Casualty Practice at our headquarters office in Deer Park, IL. We are seeking a candidate who is driven, introspective, quick, analytical, accurate, and friendly. SUMMARY :

As a Property & Casualty Intern, you will gain valuable real-world work experience from an insurance brokerage and risk management consultancy with a national presence and an international reach. You will work with seasoned Client Coordinators, Client Managers, and Client Executives on setting up new client accounts, creating certificates of insurance, undertaking client renewals, and researching rates. You will learn about risk, property management and insurance placement across industries such as energy, and real estate, transportation, manufacturing, health care, international, marine and logistics. You will also gain experience on how Plexus has been successful working with startup organizations as well as larger firms both nationally and internationally.

The Plexus Groupe summer internship program will run from June 2 nd through August 1 st , 2025. As part of our internship program, you will work across various departments on team projects and cross-functional intern initiatives.

Each summer, Plexus partners with the Council of Insurance Agents & Brokers’ (CIAB) on their scholarship program allowing one Plexus intern to apply to win a monetary award towards their college education.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

• Learn all areas of property & casualty.
• Rotate through the nine different lines of insurance at The Plexus Groupe.
• Set up new client accounts.
• Set up renewal files, including loss runs from carriers.
• Check in and distribute policies to clients.
• Review client audits.
• Create certificates of insurance for clients.
• Identify areas for improvement, and drive projects to automate manual processes, create efficiencies, and reduce overall implementation timeframes.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE :

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program is required. Majors in Insurance, Finance, or Business Administration is preferred.
• Candidates should be entering their junior or senior year of college.
• Must have a 3.0 GPA or higher.
• Be a self-starter.
• Possesses analytical / problem-solving skills.
• Learns quickly.
• Enjoys teamwork and cultivating relationships.
•   Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Has work experience demonstrating strong technical and / or client service skills (analyst-type of internship preferred).
• Has a passion for solving problems and sharing solutions to exceed the standards of the client.
• Possesses excellent Microsoft Excel skills, with intermediate knowledge of other Microsoft Office programs.

POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
This is a full-time temporary position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
