Job Title: Electrician
Location: Bergen
Pay Range: 60k - 67k
Schedules-- 2nd Shift (May-Nov): 12pm-9pm, Saturday off, $30-$32/hr ( $2 shift diff)
- 3rd Shift (May-Nov): 9pm-6:30am, Friday off, $30-$32/hr ( $3 shift diff)
- Non-Pack (Dec-May): 6am-2:30pm or 6am-4:30pm, either 5-8's or 4-10's.
Reports to: Maintenance Manager
Job Summary:
As an Electrician, you will play a vital role within our maintenance department, overseeing all electrical and automated systems within our facility. Your responsibilities will include installation, maintenance, and repair of various electrical systems, as well as collaborating with other departments to ensure smooth operations.
Essential Functions:
- Modify blueprints and schematics to reflect equipment changes
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot secondary electrical systems including wiring, lighting, and communication systems
- Handle power distribution equipment, motor drives, standby power systems, and associated control systems
- Proficient in working with systems of up to 480 volts
- Operate test and measuring instruments to ensure functionality of electronic and electrical systems
- Maintain and troubleshoot industrial instrumentation devices
- Manage inventory of parts and collaborate with the parts coordinator
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance tasks
- Collaborate with other departments to identify and resolve equipment issues
- Uphold quality standards and adhere to 5S practices
- Propose ideas for equipment modifications to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
- Follow daily work schedules and estimate materials and time required for tasks
- Adhere to company Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's)
- Report safety, sanitation, and quality issues to the Manager/Supervisor
- Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficient in interpreting electrical diagrams and blueprints
- Skilled in troubleshooting electrical circuitry and equipment
- Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controls (PLC's) and Variable Frequency Drives (VFD's)
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safety procedures
- Proficiency in operating various tools and equipment
Physical Demands:
- Constant standing and frequent lifting up to 50 lbs
- Ability to perform various physical tasks including walking, climbing, bending, and reaching
- Specific vision abilities required for close vision, color vision, and depth perception
**Work Environment:**
- Exposure to noisy, dusty, hot, humid, and wet conditions
- Work near moving mechanical parts and exposure to chemicals or solvents
Experience:
- Two to three years of experience as an Industrial Electrician preferred
Education:
- Two years of electrical technology education or related field preferred
