Hotel NIGHT AUDIT Front Desk Agent Location Kenner, LA :

Hotel Front Desk Agent: Guest Service skills are always top priority but candidates must also be professional in attitude, conduct and appearance, detail oriented and knowledgeable of common hotel policies and procedures related to Hotel Reception. Night audit applicants should possess basic accounting skills, and an understanding of the purpose and procedures for conducting a hotel night audit. Must be familiar with the basic operation of computers, cashier procedures, telephone etiquette, basic switchboard operations and other common Hotel Front Desk duties. Duties will include keeping work areas clean; lobby convenience shop merchandise sales, restocking and inventory; and as otherwise assigned by management. Candidates available for all shifts and all days are preferred. Opportunities for some day and evening shifts may be available. Position is full time (36-40 hours per week).

Responsibilities

Hotel Night Auditors are responsible to review all folios, verify that all transactions for the day, including reservations, check-ins, payments, check-outs, document scans, etc., have been posted correctly and that all paperwork has been properly completed as required by management. Duties include balancing and closing the credit card batch for the day with a gateway processor like Shift4, running the computer audit, processing credit card payment advance deposits, recording the status of all rooms at day end close and preparing the reports that housekeeping will need for the new day.

Night auditors also serve as the front desk agent during their shift and perform the following reception desk duties which are common to all front desk agents:

Perform all check-in and check-out tasksManage online and phone reservationsInform customers about payment methods and verify their credit card dataRegister guests collecting necessary information (like contact details and exact dates of their stay)Welcome guests upon their arrival and assign roomsProvide information about our hotel, available rooms, rates and amenitiesRespond to clients' complaints in a timely and professional mannerLiaise with our housekeeping and maintenance staff to ensure all rooms are clean, tidy and fully-furnished to accommodate guests' needsConfirm group reservations and arrange personalized services for VIP customers and event attendees, like wedding guestsUpsell additional facilities and services, when appropriateMaintain updated records of bookings and paymentsFollow instructions of management concerning hotel policies and procedures

Skills

Work experience as a Hotel Front Desk Night Auditor or similar role including an understanding the purpose of night audit to correct any transaction errors made by other clerks earlier in the day.Experience with hotel reservations software, like Roommaster IQWeb, Cloudbeds and RoomKeyPMS.Understanding of how travel planning websites operate, like Priceline, Expedia, Booking.com and TripAdvisor.Must have Excellent customer service attitudeMust have Excellent communication and organizational skillsCurrent interest in or formal education for hotel management is a plus but not required.

Pay: $15.00 per hour
