Job Description

QES Engineering Inspection is seeking Heavy Civil Construction Inspectors (CI) to join our team. The Inspectors will perform inspection to assure that contractors build a quality construction project. The CI will monitor and document that the roadway and bridge project is being built in accordance with the pertinent plans and specifications. 

These positions require in-person work over the course of the 5-year project. These are early to mid-career positions that provide long-term employment opportunity with QES , working with the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC).

Responsibilities:

• Complete oversight and inspection of roadway and bridges.
• Prepare daily documentation and complete forms as needed
• Complete measurements and calculations daily
• Ensure the construction adheres to the project plans, specifications and special provisions
• Verify the proper materials and methods of construction are being performed

Requirements:

• Minimum education requirement is a high school diploma. Bachelors’ degree or higher in a civil engineering discipline is strongly preferred.
• Must have 1-5 years of similar construction inspection experience.
• Must be NICET certified (either NICET II or III)
• Previous experience on PennDOT or Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC) projects is a PLUS.
• PennDOT Concrete and NECEPT Bituminous are preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is required.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Please note: this position could have varying shifts.
