General Manager – Branch Operations

Office Location: Fairfield, CT

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experiencedGeneral Manager to lead one of our regional branch operations in Fairfield, CT. This role is responsible for overseeing the delivery and performance of energy efficiency services, including home energy assessments, weatherization, window replacements, and HVAC system upgrades. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in HVAC, proven leadership experience, and a deep understanding of operational metrics and process optimization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Leadership:
    • Manage daily branch operations across multiple service lines (audits, weatherization, windows, HVAC).
    • Ensure high-quality project execution, customer satisfaction, and adherence to regulatory and safety standards.
    • Coordinate workforce scheduling, materials procurement, and logistics.
  • Team Management:
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of technicians, auditors, and project managers.
    • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
    • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for financial, operational, and customer success.
    • Drive initiatives to improve conversion rates, cycle time, customer satisfaction, and cost efficiency.
  • Hands-On HVAC and Project Delivery:
    • Engage directly with HVAC operations to create accurate and customer-focused project scopes.
    • Collaborate closely with field project manager to ensure seamless job execution and outstanding customer experience from consultation to completion.
    • Get in the trenches maintain quality control on HVAC installations and upgrades.
    • Oversee procurement and equipment specifications to align with energy efficiency standards and program requirements.
    • Develop and implement process improvements for HVAC workflows, scheduling, and customer communication.
    • Grow and manage all subcontractor partnerships to include recruitment, onboarding, timely payments, etc..
  • Program Compliance and Partner Engagement:
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for local utility partners and municipal program stakeholders.
    • Ensure compliance with energy efficiency program guidelines and reporting requirements.
    • Collaborate with internal and external partners to optimize program delivery and growth.
  • Customer Experience:
    • Champion a customer-first culture, resolving escalations and ensuring a high Net Promoter Score (NPS).
    • Continuously identify opportunities to improve the homeowner experience across all services.
Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of operational leadership experience, preferably in energy efficiency, construction, or HVAC services.
  • Demonstrated success in managing cross-functional teams in a field services environment.
  • Direct experience in HVAC installation, management, or service operations. HVAC specific experience is a plus.
  • Experience working with utility energy efficiency programs and compliance standards is highly preferred.
  • Strong business acumen and proficiency in performance management tools and KPIs.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • Familiarity with Energize CT or similar utility programs is a plus.
  • Certifications such as BPI, NATE, or HVAC licensing a strong plus.
