About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Fund Accounting Manager to join our Real Estate Fund Accounting team in Chicago, IL. Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all client deliverables related to the NAV process, including financial statements, investor reports, capital call notices, and distribution notices.
- Lead and mentor a team of Associate Fund Accountants, Fund Accountants, and Senior Fund Accountants.
- Provide guidance on performance reviews and team development.
- Identify and implement efficiency improvements and process enhancements.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and proactively address potential risks.
- Review and calculate complex management fees, incentive fees, capital calls, and allocations.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, participating in regular meetings and addressing ad-hoc requests.
- Manage client relationships, including maintaining and updating the client Operating Memorandum.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including Financial Control, Client Service, Implementation, and Technology, to streamline operations.
- Provide on-the-job training and mentorship to accounting and financial reporting professionals.
- Oversee fund-client audits and ensure financial statements are accurate and complete.
- Conduct technical research and stay up to date with industry best practices.
Your Background:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field.
- 7+ years of accounting experience, preferably in financial services or fund administration.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing a team.
- Proactive and client-focused approach with excellent communication skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Direct experience with fund administration, private equity, credit, or real estate funds is a plus.
- CPA or CPA eligibility is a plus.
Compensation:
- Salary range: $80,000 - $130,000+ (based on location and experience).
