Position Overview

We are looking for a skilled developer to join our team, specializing in creating and enhancing web applications. This role involves migrating and refactoring our existing backend and frontend systems, as well as establishing best practices to ensure sustainability and maintainability.

Required Qualifications
Proficient in creating RESTful APIs using a modern Python web application framework (e.g., Flask, FastAPI, Starlite) with a minimum version of Python 3.9.
Experience in developing reusable CRUD operations using an Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) tool, such as SQLAlchemy.
Strong understanding of modern JavaScript front-end development and best practices (e.g., React, Vue).

Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with setting up comprehensive testing, development practices, and documentation for web applications.
Basic knowledge of user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design principles.

Key Responsibilities
Migrate and refactor the existing Flask backend to FastAPI, while establishing and documenting best practices throughout the process.
Transition the Flask frontend to a modern JavaScript-based framework, implementing robust testing and development practices for future engineers to maintain and extend.
Evaluate the current data model, ORM, and CRUD methods to ensure adherence to best practices, migrating the database and updating data models as necessary.
Establish sustainable models for development, Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), and deployment practices.
Continue to support and enhance web application functionality and the feature roadmap in alignment with stakeholder requests.
