Job Description

Floor Manager – Bibliotheque (NYC)

Bibliotheque, a one-of-a-kind wine bar, café, and bookstore in NYC, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Floor Manager to join our team. We are looking for a hospitality professional who is enthusiastic, detail-oriented, and committed to cultivating a positive and collaborative workplace culture.

About the Role

As Floor Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring smooth and seamless operations throughout our unique space. You’ll work closely with the Director of Operations to uphold exceptional service standards, support staff, and maintain the welcoming atmosphere that makes Bibliotheque special. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a multifaceted environment and enjoys being hands-on during key service periods.

Responsibilities

  • Team Support & Leadership:   Guide, train, and motivate staff to deliver outstanding service and foster a friendly, professional environment.

  • Operational Excellence:   Oversee daily floor operations across the wine bar, café, and bookstore, including ensuring a smooth transition at the end of service.

  • Guest Experience:   Act as a point of contact for guests, address feedback, and ensure every visitor enjoys a memorable experience.

  • Inventory & Supplies:   Monitor and coordinate inventory levels for beverages, dry goods, and supplies, ensuring the team is always prepared.

  • Event Support:   Assist with the execution of public events and special programming, helping to create engaging community experiences.

  • Facility Standards:   Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting space, ensuring everything is in place for both staff and guests.

  • Staff Scheduling:   Help coordinate shift coverage and work with the team to ensure all shifts, including closing service, are fully supported.

Growth Opportunities

This role offers a strong foundation for career advancement within Bibliotheque. As Floor Manager, you’ll gain valuable experience in hospitality operations, with the potential to take on greater leadership responsibilities as you grow with us.

Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant management (wine knowledge is a plus!)

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

  • Passion for creating memorable guest experiences

  • Ability to manage multiple concepts in a fast-paced setting

Join us at Bibliotheque and help create a space where wine lovers, coffee enthusiasts, and bookworms come together. If you’re ready to contribute your expertise and energy to our team, we’d love to hear from you!
