Fire Protection Designer- Fire Alarm System Designer

Fire Sprinkler - Fire Suppression - Sprinkler Design

Our client in the local area is actively seeking a Fire Protection, Fire Alarm, Fire Suppression System, or Fire Sprinkler Designer with strong technical design experience and excellent communications skills.  This is an excellent environment providing professional growth while allowing for continued career advancement.

A successful Fire Sprinkler, Fire Protection, Fire Alarm Designer candidate will perform duties such as:

• Review the customer requirements and collaborate with all team members to gather required information to design the fire sprinkler / fire alarm system
• Plan and design fire sprinkler safety systems using AutoCAD, AutoSPRINK, and HydraCAD
• Adhere to National Fire Prevention Association (NFPA) codes and standards and local building code compliance requirements
• Conduct field reviews and site surveys for measurements, environment and to verify accuracy of completed design
• Perform hydraulic calculations
• Interpret architect drawings/specifications, blueprints and construction documents
• Meet client & customer needs and support efficient project management with excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Qualifications:

• Two (2) or more years of experience in sprinkler design, fire protection, fire alarm, fire suppression, or plumbing design experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Plumbing engineering a plus
• High School, Associated degree or Trade School training with direct design experience considered
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, MS Word and Excel
• Experience with AutoCAD, AutoSPRINK, HydraCAD, Revit, and/ or other fire protection design software
• Excellent organizational and communication skills with attention to detail
• NICET Certification a plus
• Understanding of NFPA Standards and Building Codes
• Strong understanding of fire sprinkler system installation practices
