Job Description

Our law firm is seeking a family attorney who can assist our clients in navigating the sensitive legal issues of family law, including child custody, child abuse, and domestic violence. Jobseekers should be equally familiar with prenuptial agreements, divorce, alimony, child support, and real estate, and be able to effectively engage in oral debate and negotiation even in highly stressful and emotional situations. • Divide marital assets, including real estate, when necessary during divorce proceedings
• Collaborate with senior partners and paralegals to effectively move files through the civil litigation process
• Attend court proceedings as needed to represent clients
• Assist clients effectively by understanding their needs analyzing the situation then strategizing and deciding on a proper course of action
• Draft pleadings, motions, contracts, marital settlement agreements, judgements, and orders for a high volume of cases

Qualifications:

• Member in good standing and actively involved with the ABA (American Bar Association)
• Experience at a legal firm working on family law and real estate issues (determining marital property) for at least 1-2 years is required
• Ability to successfully represent both plaintiff and defendant sides of a case
• 4-year degree with a legal background and J.D. degree are necessary for this position
• Extra consideration for those with a criminal justice background
