Job Description

Account Representative - Specialty Chemicals - Metalworking 

Our client, a growing manufacturer of specialty chemicals sold into metal fabricators, has an immediate need for an Account Manager based in Texas, prefer Houston but open to Dallas/Ft. Worth. This person will be responsible for both developing new business as well as performing technical service to existing accounts throughout the state of Texas. Ideal candidate will have experience working with value-added metal pre-treatment applications, along with strong attributes in both sales and technical service. This is a fully remote, home-office position, and will travel to customers throughout the week including some overnight travel as needed. The individual must be a self-starter but coachable, with a drive to succeed. This position will work with a team that is extremely supportive and a company that is expanding due to growth, service and focusing on customers.  

Requirements:

  • BS/BA degree - Engineering/Science degree a plus but not required.
  • 5+ years outside chemical/industrial value-added sales, strongly prefer background in Metal Pre-treatment and experience calling on manufacturing with successful track record of developing long-term relationships and growing a region.  
  • Mechanically inclined, problem solver, and driven to create customer satisfaction.
  • Position will be focused on prospecting and cold-calling to potential customers in the paint/powder coating surface preparation, water treatment including waste, boiler and cooling towers, plating, lubricants and fluids, automotive and other process applications.  
  • Looking for true entrepreneur spirit, professional, able to work autonomously as this is a home office based position.
  • Friendly, energetic personality, coachable, hard-working but enjoys having fun!
  • Extreme attention to detail and follow-up.
  • Responsive to customers operations that might include early mornings or nights to support start-ups or problem solve.
  • A self-starter who can plan, execute, and prospect independently.

Competitive compensation program - base salary + uncapped commission paid monthly + monthly car allowance + full benefit program.
