Position Overview:
As an Experienced Class A Driver in the construction industry, you will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and safe transportation of materials, equipment, and personnel to and from job sites. We are looking for a professional with a strong work ethic, excellent driving skills, and a solid understanding of the unique challenges associated with the construction environment.
Job Requirements as follows, but not limited to:
-Valid CDL, DOT and Medical card
-Strong Work Ethic
-Equipment/Construction experience is a must
-Working on the ground with field crews
-Driving, loading and unloading equipment
-Hauling equipment & materials from yard/plant
-Hauling miscellaneous materials as directed by supervisor when needed
-Operating equipment when needed
-Excellent communication skills
-Team player - someone who works well with others and can communicate with foreman and plant/quarry employees
Key Responsibilities as follows, but not limited to:
- Operate Class A vehicles to transport materials, tools, and equipment to job sites, including but not limited to tractor-trailers, flatbeds, and dump trucks.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal transportation regulations and safety standards.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, reporting any mechanical issues or maintenance needs.
- Navigate to construction sites efficiently, utilizing GPS or maps, and maintain accurate delivery logs and records.
- Collaborate with site managers and crew members to ensure timely delivery and pick-up of materials.
- Assist with loading and unloading materials as needed, ensuring proper securing of loads for safe transportation.
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle, ensuring all necessary equipment is available and operational.
- Follow company policies and procedures related to safety, vehicle operation, and equipment handling.
- Participate in training sessions and safety meetings to stay current on industry standards and best practices.
Qualifications as follows, but not limited to:
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- Minimum 2-5 years of driving experience in the construction or related industry.
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards.
- Experience operating heavy machinery and specialized construction vehicles preferred.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends as required.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Proven ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements as follows, but not limited to:
- Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 50-75 lbs. as required.
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as necessary.
- Comfort working in outdoor environments and in varying weather conditions.
