I am reaching out to you regarding a job opportunity with one of our clients Job Title: Network Engineer Location: Omaha, NE Onsite Duration: 6 Months We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer with strong expertise in Copper & HFC Networks Design EIS and IP network operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with network planning, configuration, migration, and troubleshooting in multi-vendor environments (Cisco, Juniper, Nokia). This role requires excellent technical, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with IP Planning, Architecture & Engineering, IP Operations, and Field Engineers to draft MOP (Method of Procedure) documents for infrastructure circuit augments, disconnects, hot-cuts, and grooms. Coordinate IPNOC calendar with Global Change Request (GCR) submissions. Utilize CCNA-level networking skills to build, test, disconnect, and migrate infrastructure circuits across various platforms and Autonomous Systems. Navigate and execute complex projects involving multiple Autonomous Systems, tools, and processes. Adapt to evolving project scopes, process enhancements, and emerging technologies. Configure and troubleshoot routing & switching across multiple vendors (Cisco, Juniper, Nokia), using protocols such as IS-IS, BGP, MPLS, OSPF, and switching protocols like LLDP, CDP, Spanning-Tree, and MAC. Troubleshoot router and switch circuits utilizing both OSI and DoD models. Automate repetitive processes, configurations, MOP creation, and reporting tasks. Document Network Readiness Testing (NRT) platforms, devices, processes, and technical requirements. Lead and actively participate in conference calls with multiple levels of stakeholders. Required Skills & Qualifications: CCNA-level networking skills or equivalent practical experience. Strong understanding of routing & switching protocols and network architecture. Multi-vendor experience with Cisco, Juniper, Nokia devices. Proficiency with IS-IS, BGP, MPLS, OSPF, and common switching protocols. Hands-on experience drafting MOP documentation. Strong troubleshooting skills using OSI/DoD models. Experience with process automation in network operations. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
