Selby Jennings has partnered with a leading hedge fund based in Chicago, known for its fundamental, research-intensive approach to equity investing. They are seeking to add an Equity Research Analyst to the team with a generalist focus.

Position Overview
They are looking for a motivated and analytical Equity Research Analyst with 1-3 years of experience in equity research, investment banking, or a related field to join our team in Chicago.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive research on broad equities and sectors
• Build and maintain detailed financial models and valuation analyses to support investment theses.
• Track and analyze industry trends, company performance, and economic factors to assess potential impacts on investments.
• Interact with company management, attend industry conferences, and review market data to gather intelligence and inform investment decisions.
• Prepare concise, well-supported reports and present findings to portfolio managers and other members of the investment team.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in equity research, investment banking, or a related field.
• Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, with a solid understanding of financial statements and valuation techniques.
• Proficiency in Excel, Bloomberg, and other relevant financial software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate investment theses and insights.
• A self-starter with strong attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
