Entry-Level Heavy Truck Mechanic Pay Rate : $18-25/hr. (depending on experience)
This is an entry-level position suitable for individuals with some experience or training in heavy truck repair and maintenance. The position offers an excellent opportunity to grow and develop hands-on skills in a fast-paced and rewarding environment.
Overview :
The Entry-Level Heavy Truck Mechanic will assist in performing maintenance and repair tasks on heavy-duty trucks, agricultural, and construction equipment. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of engine diagnostics, repairs, and be willing to learn to troubleshoot systems under the guidance of senior mechanics.
Responsibilities :
• Assist in routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake inspections, and filter replacements.
• Support in the diagnosis and repair of engines, with guidance from more experienced team members.
• Assist in electrical troubleshooting under supervision.
• Help with the maintenance of hydraulic systems, including pumps and hoses, and other truck components.
• Assist with general repairs of truck systems, including lighting and batteries.
• Perform basic welding and fabrication tasks as needed, with training provided.
• Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe work environment for yourself and others.
• Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the workshop.
Qualifications :
• Some experience or training in heavy truck repair or automotive mechanics (1-2 years or relevant schooling).
• Willingness to learn and grow in the field.
• Ability to use basic hand tools and some mechanical equipment.
• Familiarity with heavy truck components and systems (training provided).
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Must be reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions.
• Ability to work well within a team.
Physical Requirements :
• Ability to lift and move equipment (up to 50 pounds).
• Stamina to work in various weather conditions.
• Manual dexterity and coordination for mechanical tasks.
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
• Good vision and hearing for inspections and diagnostics.
Benefits: In addition to competitive pay, we offer PTO/health/vision/dental/401k. Normal hours are 40 hours a week with an average of 10 hours a week of overtime and no weekends. Other benefits include heated floors, annual tool/clothing allowance and onsite washer/dryer
