Job Description

TeamHealth is currently seeking an emergency medicine (EM) physician to join our team at the Baptist Health System in Montgomery, Alabama. As an EM physician, you will provide high-quality medical care to patients who require emergency treatment. You will work in a fast-paced environment and be responsible for diagnosing and treating a wide range of acute illnesses and injuries.

Responsibilities:

• Perform physical examinations, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and diagnose and treat illnesses and injuries
• Prescribe medications and treatments as needed
• Consult with specialists and refer patients for further care when necessary
• Provide timely and accurate documentation of patient care in the electronic medical record system
• Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
• Collaborate with nurses, physician assistants, and other healthcare providers to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emergency medicine practices and guidelines
• Participate in continuing medical education activities and professional development opportunities

Qualifications:

• Board certification or eligibility in emergency medicine, internal medicine (IM) or family medicine (FM)
• Current Alabama medical license or eligibility to obtain one
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
