THE ROLE
The Director of Infusion Nursing reports to the Sr. Director of Infusion Services and works closely with the operations teams of the Providence Cancer Institute, Arthritis Center, and Hospital teams including PPMC, PSVMC, PNMC and PWFMC in ensuring safe and efficient care of infusion and navigation patients throughout the East and West service areas at multiple sites. The director collaborates with staff, physicians, APPs, schedulers, and teams throughout the delivery system. Provides direct supervision to nursing leaders and teams. The director works within EPIC, and infusion software to evaluate productivity and manages budgets to ensure effective stewardship. The director demonstrates advanced leadership skills and ability in the management and growth of teams.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Responsible for collaborating with the Sr. Director of Infusion and Executive Director of PCI on the strategic plan for Infusion services and recommendations for nursing services to accommodate patient care throughout the East and West service areas. Advises on planning for operational and capital purchases and participates in the development of business plans.
Assures that resources and services support the mission of the departments and organization.
Formulates realistic budgets, including plans for capital equipment, space, human, and other resources to carry out department and organization-wide functions.
Demonstrates effective control of resources and maintains appropriate monitoring systems.
Identifies and implements change in systems as needed to increase productivity, promote cost containment, and enhance patient care and safety.
Participates in planning for the future needs and direction of the organization and direct areas of responsibility.
Demonstrates leadership ability by facilitating individual and team development. Removes roadblocks to improve employee and organization performance. Motivates, challenges and develops employees.
Assures that performance appraisals, coaching, counseling, feedback, and discipline are conducted in concert with policies, values and standards. Develops and applies nursing policies and procedures using current standards of nursing practice and research.
Effectively recruits, hires, orients, trains, and evaluates staff to assure competency and meeting of patient, departmental and organizational needs.
Assures provision of department and organizational meetings for all staff to meet the needs of the department and regulatory requirements.
Monitors activities, identifies trends, and takes actions which assess and improve departments’ performance. Maintains appropriate quality control programs.
Is knowledgeable about and participates in the Plan for Improving Organization Performance and the departments’ functions/role in the plan. Is knowledgeable and practices performance improvement skills and techniques. Utilizes HRO tools.
Assures safe environment for customers and others; identifies and takes effective action when necessary to assure safety standards are met.
Ensure compliance and achievement of accreditation standards including JCAHO, QOPI and CoC. Develops and implements policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of services.
Coordinates and integrates services within the departments and with other departments in order to assure that customer needs are met.
Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, in-service meetings, and workshops.
Actively participates in the Oregon Regional Infusion Committee. Participates in other hospital and department meetings as required.
Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
Master's Degree in Nursing (preferred)
Upon hire: Oregon Registered Nurse License (Vendor Managed)
5 years of one of the following: oncology, outpatient or rheumatology Infusion experience.
3 years of experience in a supervisory role or above
Working knowledge of 340B, accreditation guidelines including JCAHO, QOPI, COC
Experience with iQueue systems.
