Paws Perrydise in Perry, NY is looking for one daycare attendant to join our strong team. We are located on 63 S. Main St.. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, ambitious, hard working and an exceptional team player.

We are looking for a motivated individual who isn't afraid of dogs. Your job requires you to be able to multi-task while supervising a group of daycare dogs, answering phones, checking customers in/out as well as cleaning and answering inquiries about our services (sales). Current position is is for 8-12 hours a week and is considered entry level but would love someone with dog handling experience beyond just ownership of their own dogs (past dog sitting, has completed training with a professional, worked at a veterinarian, etc.). Although you are working around dogs, you job consists of 90% cleaning and supervising.

Currently we are hoping for a fill in position for shifts so they can vary but typically 2-6pm. Saturday availability is a must, but you will not have to work every Saturday, likely 1 every month. Currently we are not open on Saturdays but are looking for help so we can.

Dogs are cute and fun, but we do not spend our day snuggled up in on a couch, it can get loud, muddy, hairy and sometimes chaotic day that requires someone to keep their cool and think/act quickly. Strong work ethic, excellent communication skills and flexibility are what we desire. We work outdoors in cold and hot climates so you must be able to dress accordingly. This position requires you to be a self starter who can see what needs to be done and complete it without micromanagement. Time management and multitasking is a must.

This position has no room for late or absenteeism, we require 100% reliability. Our facility is also a smoke free facility. While we use our phones for photos of the dogs, we have a zero tolerance policy for personal social media use.

Responsibilities

• Supervision of a group of dogs in a play setting
• Cleaning the facility throughout the shift/day.
• Checking retail customers out using Square
• Assisting customers with inquiries on the business services
• Opening/Closing the facility
• Be able to handle a task list and complete it during each shift.
• Multitasking and prioritization of tasks based on shift.

Qualifications

• Must be able to use an iPad for our booking service & Snapchat
• Must be able to lift 50lbs
• Must enjoy any breed of dog without restrictions
• Be able to think and move quickly to respond to needs
• Must be friendly and quick to help customers
• Must be willing to work Saturdays
• Must be willing to speak up and offer services/sales with potential clients
• Must be a motivated and creative person who can work alone without micromanagement
