Job Description

Firebird AST is seeking an onsite Data Scientist/Knowledge Manager with an active DoD Secret clearance to support the N98G at the Pentagon in Arlington, Va. The contract is pending; anticipated award is April 2025.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support Director, Air Warfare and Deputy Director, Air Warfare with strategic business process improvement.
• Data/database management, workflow improvements, and future IT systems development and maintenance.
• Optimize the available toolsets for incorporation into the organization’s current and future business processes.
• Resolve current legacy database issues (storage/usability), maturing database workflows through use of data and database manipulation methods and techniques.
• Includes optimizing documents, communication, artifacts flow throughout the organization.
• Design streamlined processes for efficient distribution of information.
• Collaborate with organizations external to Air Warfare to standardize inflow and outflow of Naval Aviation data.
• Manage basic database and workflow improvements to include more advanced data science capabilities and automation of workflow.
• Manage multiple projects at one time with competing schedules.
• Explore new or assess known technology to solve specific data related problems encountered by the customer
• Build consensus with numerous stakeholders to document and receive approval on database requirements.
• Coordinate/Liaison within N9 and OPNAV agencies to streamline processes.

REQUIRED

• Must have active DoD Secret clearance.
• 5 years’ experience with Knowledge Management, Digital Libraries, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, Business Optimization Tools, Cloud Services, etc.
• Knowledge of AL/MIL and/or Deep Learning in general and experience with one or more specific fields related to NLP or NLU.
• Must have good written communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills.

PREFERRED

• PPBE experience at OPNAV or equivalent level (Echelon I)

EDUCATION

• Bachelor’s Degree in any field of study
