Key Responsibilities:
• Data Quality Standards Development: Define and implement data quality standards, including data validation rules, cleansing procedures, and data profiling techniques to identify and address data quality issues.
• Data Governance Framework Creation: Establish data governance policies, procedures, and roles & responsibilities to ensure data is managed consistently across the organization.
• Data Quality Monitoring: Continuously monitor data quality metrics, identify trends, and escalate critical data issues to relevant stakeholders.
• Data Stewardship Oversight: Collaborate with data stewards to ensure they are actively managing the quality of data within their respective business areas.
• Data Lineage Management: Track the origin and flow of data to understand its provenance and identify potential data quality issues.
• Data Cleansing and Remediation: Lead data cleansing initiatives to correct inaccurate or incomplete data and implement preventive measures to maintain data quality.
• Compliance Management: Ensure data governance practices align with relevant regulatory requirements and data privacy laws.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to educate them on data governance policies and promote data quality best practices.
• Data Quality Reporting: Generate reports and dashboards to visualize data quality trends and communicate findings to leadership.
Required Skills:
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis tools, data quality software, data profiling techniques, and data management platforms.
• Business Acumen: Understanding of business processes, data usage patterns, and the impact of data quality on decision-making.
• Communication Skills: Ability to clearly communicate complex data governance concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills to identify data quality issues, root causes, and potential solutions.
• Leadership Skills: Ability to influence and drive data governance initiatives across the organization.
• Job Titles that May Include Data Quality Data Governance Responsibilities:
• Data Governance Manager, Data Quality Lead, Data Governance Analyst, Data Quality Specialist, and Data Steward.
