Position Overview

As a data entry specialist you will be working with a claims processing team by posting medical billing payments received from Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) from insurance companies into a proprietory system. This is an entry-level position requiring strong data entry skills, attention to detail, and accuracy with numbers. While no prior experience in medical billing is required, familiarity with data entry and experience in environments like banking where accuracy and accountability are key.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately post payments received from EOBs into our electronic system.
• Review EOBs in electronic format to ensure accurate data entry.
• Use multiple software tools including Adobe Acrobat, Salesforce, Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and SharePoint to complete tasks.
• Maintain productivity and accuracy standards as established by the team.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with numbers efficiently and accurately.
• Tech-savvy with experience using the Microsoft suite (Teams, Outlook, SharePoint) and Adobe Acrobat.
• Self-starter with a strong work ethic, able to learn quickly and adapt.
• Comfortable working independently in a remote environment with a dedicated home office space with limited distractions including having childcare arrangements during work hours.
• Experience in data entry, ideally in banking or similar fields, preferred but not required.

This role may be ideal for students studying accounting or bookkeeping who are looking to gain practical experience in a remote, flexible position.

Qualifications

• No prior medical billing experience needed.
• High school diploma or equivalent; coursework in accounting or bookkeeping is a plus.
• Basic familiarity with electronic data processing and attention to detail.
