Job Title: Data Engineer with teradata

The Opportunity

We're looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join the Enterprise Data Services team, transforming data from various sources to deliver actionable insights for business stakeholders. You'll use cloud-based infrastructure to build solutions that are scalable, reliable, and efficient . This role involves working closely with Data Engineers, Analysts, DBAs, cross-functional teams, and business leaders to design, implement, and manage data engineering solutions using Agile practices that empower better business decisions.

A strong understanding of data lifecycles is essential, especially how quality data supports business analytics, reporting, and machine learning . Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• Vantage Master 2.0 / Data Science Master certifications
• 7+ years of professional experience post-degree
• 5+ years in the airline industry
• 4+ years building and maintaining ETL pipelines
• 3+ years with database technologies (e.g., Python, PLSQL)
• Experience mentoring junior engineers through code reviews
• Strong background in test case development to ensure data quality and reliability
• Track record of adopting new technologies to improve pipelines
• Proficient in query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning
• Experience identifying business rules and risks associated with data sources

Key Responsibilities & Skills

• Database Management & ETL Development Experience with Teradata Utilities (e.g., BTEQ, FastLoad, MultiLoad, TPT)

• Data Modeling & Performance Tuning Expertise in query optimization and indexing
• Data Security & Governance Ensure data meets security and compliance standards
• Cloud Integration & Infrastructure Hands-on with AWS services like EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudWatch
• Automation & DevOps Automate tasks and workflows using AWS Lambda, Step Functions, Glue
• Advanced Teradata Expertise In-depth knowledge of Teradata architecture (AMPs, Nodes, Parsing Engines)
• Scripting Skills Experience with Shell, Python for automation
• Familiar with AWS storage solutions (e.g., S3, Glacier) and integration with Redshift
