Description We are looking for an experienced Microsoft 365 Security Engineer to join our team in Irvine, California. In this role, you will play a critical part in safeguarding our systems, applications, and networks by implementing advanced security measures and monitoring tools. This position requires an experienced and detail-oriented individual with a deep understanding of modern cybersecurity technologies and methodologies. This is a hybrid role, 2 days a week working from home. Responsibilities: - Implement and manage Microsoft Security solutions, including Defender, Sentinel, and Entra ID Protection. - Configure and maintain SIEM tools such as Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, or QRadar to ensure comprehensive security monitoring. - Develop and execute strategies for application, network, and security monitoring to detect and respond to threats effectively. - Manage security for Windows Server, Active Directory, and Azure environments, ensuring compliance with best practices. - Configure firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint detection tools to protect against unauthorized access. - Conduct threat hunting, security incident investigations, and forensic analyses to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities. - Utilize cloud-native security tools and DevSecOps principles to enhance container security and overall cloud infrastructure. - Apply log aggregation, anomaly detection, and behavioral analytics to monitor and analyze system activities. - Ensure adherence to regulatory standards, including NIST and ISO 27001, within all security operations. Requirements - At least 7 years of experience in systems engineering with a focus on cybersecurity. - Extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Security solutions and SIEM tools. - Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure security, and firewall configurations. - Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Security Operations Analyst or equivalent are highly desirable. - Familiarity with endpoint detection systems, intrusion detection/prevention tools, and network security protocols. - Understanding of container security, DevSecOps principles, and cloud-native security tools. - Proven experience in threat hunting, incident investigation, and forensic analysis. - Knowledge of regulatory compliance frameworks like NIST and ISO 27001.
