Description Position Summary Ruoff Mortgage is seeking a copywriter who will play an integral role in creating mortgage content that educates and converts customer engagement. This individual must be able to convey real estate and mortgage information that is compelling, easy to understand, and consistently promotes our brand voice.
Essential Responsibilities - Consistently read mortgage updates and research current information, then distill the topics into easy-to-read content that loan officers can quickly share.
- Create content for email campaigns, websites, educational collateral, social media, newsletters, video scripts, and press releases. Creativity is required, but we also seek high-level technical writing skills. This combination of creative/analytical skills will serve to entice our audience to learn about the subject matter, as well as educate them on critical aspects of the mortgage process.
- Understand SEO and the importance of crafting content for Google search rankings.
- Work closely with our graphic designers, digital strategists, communications, and sales team.
- Proofreading and copy editing will be an integral part of this role.
Requirements Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
- Ability to utilize AI effectively for content generation
- Experience writing for digital and traditional mediums
- Knowledge of copywriting best practices
- Knowledge of social media best practices
- A strong understanding of the mortgage industry and process
- Ability to learn complex topics and clearly articulate them in a creative and concise manner
Supervisory Responsibilities This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
Experience And Training - Professional writer with 5+ years of experience; preference toward experience in the real estate or mortgage industry.
- A Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Creative Writing, Marketing, or Communications is preferred. Years of experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Exceptional writing skills that are demonstrated through examples in your portfolio. Please provide a PDF or a link to an online portfolio.
Physical Demands and Work Environment Physical Demands: - Mostly sedentary at a desk
- A majority of the work will require being in front of a computer
Work Environment: - In-office setting. This is not a remote or hybrid position.
- 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday
- Open workspace
