COORDINATOR OF EMPLOYER RELATIONS
Office of Career and Alumni Relations

OVERVIEW
Reporting to the VP of Career and Alumni Relations, the Coordinator of Employer Relations will connect with industry professionals to identify opportunities to collaborate and ultimately grow DigiPen’s employer base. This role has a great emphasis on email communication, relationship building, calendar management, & event planning. This position is non-exempt, full-time, and some evening and weekend hours are required. Some out-of-state travel may be required.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop strategic planning initiatives to contribute to the growth of DigiPen’s relationship with industry employers and contacts
  • Manage and maintain detailed information about employer contacts in DigiPen’s Career Services management platform (Handshake)
  • Source new employer contacts that previously do not have a relationship with DigiPen to cultivate opportunities for students/graduates and onboard them onto the Handshake system
  • Recruit employers to attend major on-campus events including Company Days, Fall Career Event, and NextGen Industry Mixer, etc. and assist with event planning
  • Plan and execute weekly employer events (Company Days, mixers, etc.)
  • Oversee Career and Alumni Relations social media groups (Facebook, LinkedIn, Discord)
  • Maintain employer engagement documentation annually
  • Develop and maintain a communication plan for employers using email marketing and newsletters
  • Develop relationships with employers through regular calls, emails, and meetings
  • Develop surveys and feedback channels for improving DigiPen’s external employer relations
  • Assist with campus-wide Employment Verification process
  • Assist with internal and external data collection efforts
  • Keep team apprised of events and progress
  • Other duties as assigned

Shared Responsibilities:

  • Support current students and alumni both in one-on-one advising and in career-related workshops to encourage professional development (resume/cover letter writing, interviewing, networking, salary negotiating, etc.)
  • Thorough documentation of departmental activity
  • Represent and assist with interdepartmental events such as New Student Orientation, Preview Days, etc.
  • Serve on campus committees, as needed

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, English, Higher Education, or related field
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and environment that is welcoming to all students, alumni, staff members, and industry professionals
  • Familiarity with the Interactive Entertainment Industry and/or adjacent industries (animation, tech, etc.)
  • Proficiency with Social Media, particularly LinkedIn and Discord
  • Proven professionalism with written & verbal communication skills and comfort with public speaking
  • Ability to collaborate with internal colleagues and industry partners
  • Exceptional organizational abilities while performing duties such as calendar management, email correspondence tracking, and scheduling meetings
  • High energy level, motivation, professionalism, initiative, and attention to detail required
  • Strong written and grammatical skills
  • Comfort with cold outreach efforts (calls, emails, etc.)
  • Excellent self-management skills, highly detail oriented, and motivated

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrated experience working in career services field
  • Familiarity with career services management platforms (Handshake, Symplicity, GradLeaders, etc.)
  • Event planning experience

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able to read, speak, and write in English clearly
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
  • Have considerable manual dexterity (typing, filing, etc.)

LOCATION: Redmond, WA – This in-person position requires candidates to be available on-site.

SALARY RANGE:

$56,000 - $66,000 annually, depending on experience
