Our client, a dynamic and rapidly expanding technology firm focused on delivering innovative solutions that drive growth and efficiency, is currently seeking a hands-on, strategic, and detail-oriented
Controller to join their leadership team and support their next phase of growth.
Position Summary: The
Controller will be a key member of the finance leadership team, responsible for overseeing the company's accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls. This role will play a critical part in maintaining the financial health of the company, providing strategic insights, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities: - Financial Management: Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP .
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the budgeting process, financial planning, and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Internal Controls: Develop and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial reporting requirements.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to streamline accounting operations and enhance accuracy.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance and promoting professional development.
- Strategic Support: Collaborate with the executive team to provide financial insights and support strategic initiatives.
Qualifications: - Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role , preferably in a technology or fast-paced industry . Must have start-up company experience.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in GAAP , financial reporting , and accounting software . Experience with ERP systems is a plus.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
- Leadership: Proven track record of managing and developing accounting teams.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
