At FLITE Center, we are dedicated to making a lasting impact in the lives of those we serve by fostering a caring and supportive environment.

Position Summary:
The Child Welfare Social Worker will play a key role in supporting the foster care program at FLITE Center, focusing on the well-being, safety, and development of young adults transitioning from foster care. The social worker will also collaborate with community partners, child welfare agencies, and families to ensure a holistic approach to support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and timely case files, documenting client progress, service plans, and outcomes. Prepare necessary reports for program evaluation and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Collaboration: Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, attending team meetings and collaborating with other professionals to ensure coordinated and effective service delivery.
  • Outreach and Engagement: Actively engage with foster care youth, families, and other stakeholders through outreach initiatives, educational programs, and community events.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in child welfare or foster care services.
  • Strong understanding of the foster care system, child welfare regulations, and the challenges faced by youth aging out of the system.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with young adults and community partners.
  • Ability to manage a diverse caseload, prioritize tasks, and respond to crises effectively.
  • Familiarity with trauma-informed care and experience providing trauma-related services.
  • Proficiency in case management software and other relevant technology.
