Key Position Details:

Allina Healths Minneapolis Heart Institute of Baxter and Crosby MN is seeking a Cardiology Nurse Practitioner to join the practice.

• .8 FTE, outpatient clinic position.
• Team includes 3 Cardiologists, 2 Nurse Practitioners, 9 RN's, 6 Holter Stress Techs and 6 Provider Coordinators.
• Role includes seeing patients at 2 locations (Baxter & Crosby) for follow-up appointments including patients recently discharged from the hospital.
• May be trained to run or monitor stress testing.
• Services offered at the clinic: EKG, cardiac monitors, Echocardiogram, Stress Echo, CV Nuclear Medicine, Cardiac CT and Heart Scans, Vascular Ultrasound and pacemaker monitoring.
• EMR: Epic is one of the most comprehensive electronic health record (EHR) systems in the nation.

Job Description:

Provides help with all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatments and consultations as part of a physician/nurse team in accordance with the designated specialty. Works in both inpatient and outpatient situations and can perform independently or as part of a treatment team. Serves as an educator, case manager, consultant to staff and multidisciplinary health care team.

Principle Responsibilities:

• Completes comprehensive patient assessments.?
• Consults with physician when patient needs outside of Nurse Practitioner scope of practice, diagnosis or treatment plan is unclear.
• Participates in health care team.
• Promotes communication within the team and other interdisciplinary health care staff.
• Acts as resource to members of the team.

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree - Completion of accredited Nurse Practitioner program

Preferred Qualifications:

• New graduates may be considered. Minimum 2 years experience in cardiology preferred.

Licenses/Certifications:

• Certified Nurse Practitioner - ANCC or AANP certification within specialty required upon hire.
• Active non-restricted MN Certified Nurse Practitioner and Licensed Registered Nurse license required upon hire.
• Ability to obtain and/or maintain MN DEA certification and National Provider Identifier (NPI)
• Ability to meet criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and hospital privileges, if applicable.
• BLS certification required upon hire.
