Long term contract in Portland, OR for an experienced CAD Designer.
Must have experience with NX.
Will train onsite then move to hybrid set up.
Hourly rate ranging up to $45.00/hr.
Overview:
Experienced designer with demonstrated capabilities in NX. Will serve as primary design support at Customer (DTNA) for new product development, integration and sustaining engineering programs utilizing Drivetrain and Braking Systems product lines. Work closely with Resident Customer Support Engineer to liaise between DTNA and Product Engineering and Design teams to facilitate new product release and integration; and support existing product initiatives such as plant activities, field issues, cost reduction or other customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Create or import models, assemblies and drawings using NX, check for completeness and accuracy
Manage all design work in DTNA PLM/PDM system
Create packaging studies for products in customer design envelope to ensure fitment
Manage information sharing (CAD, drawings, FEA, specifications, etc.) within Policy guidelines
Work with plants and/or vendors to address issues with manufacturability
Perform FEA and tolerance stacks as required

Education and Experience
High school diploma, certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience in an appropriate STEM field is required
Product design with 5-10 years of direct designer experience required
Multi-year experience with NX on various types of models and drawings required
