Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform general bookkeeping duties and assist management and staff with administrative tasks as required.
- Conduct daily cash reporting and weekly bank reconciliations across multiple accounts.
- Input bank transactions into QuickBooks and maintain accurate records.
- Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable, including invoice processing and payment coordination.
- Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain documentation related to financial activities, including loans, grants, and assets.
- Prepare QuickBooks entries in compliance with GAAP and our established chart of accounts.
- Assist in month-end closing procedures, including detailed schedule maintenance and account reconciliation.
- Ensure timely filing of sales taxes.
- Facilitate communication between the finance team and other departments.
- Collaborate with our accountant to ensure tax compliance.
Position Requirements:
Qualifications:
- High School diploma required; Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum three years of related experience.
- Strong knowledge of US generally accepted accounting principles (US GAAP) and bookkeeping procedures.
- Familiarity with governmental compliance requirements.
Skills:
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to quickly learn new software applications and programs.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, Microsoft Office Suite, and internet software.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Adaptability and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong reading comprehension skills.
Physical Demands:
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, and peripheral vision.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, and communicate verbally.
- Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling may be required.
