Job Description

Inland Empire Paper Company has an excellent opportunity for a Bookkeeper to maintain day to day bookkeeping and accounting for our Transportation department and other functions as directed. The key functions include:

• Manage Accounts Receivable / Accounts Payable organization and functionality
• Prepare financial statements
• Perform monthly journal entries and bank reconciliation
• Prepare annual government reporting
• Perform Invoicing
• Process truck driver payroll
• Prepare monthly payroll taxes
• Maintain truck driver files and information
• Perform reference checks or credit verification
• Record keeping (digitally & paper) and scanning
• Work with customers in claims process
• Manage TMS (Transportation Management System)
• Request transportation paperwork
• Process vendor payments
• Process quick payments
• Request proof of insurances
• Resolve Insurance claims
• Resolve payment discrepancies
• Redirect incorrect billing issues (wrong company, etc.)
• Assist with Field calls, Mailings
• Assist Account Managers with projects and Scheduling
• Assist Customer Service Representatives (CSR’s) with service sourcing
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Accounting: 1-2 years, or Bookkeeping: 3-5 years
• Demonstrated proficiency with QuickBooks and MS Office applications, including Excel
• Working knowledge of ERP systems, such as JD Edwards, preferred
• Working knowledge of transportation software such as Rose Rocket or Torro TMS preferred
• Demonstrated effective communicator via all modes (Phone, email, verbal, etc.)
• Fast learner with attention to detail
• Dedicated team player in a fast-paced workgroup environment
• Ability to process confidential information in a professional manner

Additional Information

• The Bookkeeper is a salaried non-exempt position. Pay range is $46k to $62k per year depending on experience and education.
