Bankruptcy Associate Attorney – New Orleans

First year fully onsite, then hybrid option available
Salary: $225K+ based on experience, plus bonus

Our client, a top law firm, is seeking a bankruptcy associate with at least three years of experience in bankruptcy, workouts, or related commercial litigation to join its Corporate Restructuring & Bankruptcy practice group.

Key Responsibilities

• Represent lenders, secured and unsecured creditors, and businesses in restructuring and insolvency proceedings.
• Handle default resolutions, collections, repossessions, loan workouts, and bankruptcy matters in both federal and state courts.
• Provide strategic legal counsel on bankruptcy-related matters, including commercial disputes.
• Collaborate with clients and senior attorneys on case strategy and legal analysis.

Qualifications

• J.D. from a top law school with a strong academic record.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in bankruptcy, workouts, or related commercial litigation. (Ideal range: 3-7 years)
• Prior experience at a reputable law firm; no frequent job changes.
• Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with real estate, maritime, or energy law is a plus.
