Our Product team leads the direction, coordination, output, quality, and enhancements to PowerSchool’s product portfolio. This dynamic, multi-functional team ensures the effective rollout of new products across the platform, packages and positions products to appeal to consumers, and helps set the future direction and pace of innovation in our organization.

Responsibilities

Overview

A user experience (UX) writer creates content, including copies and interface texts for web experiences and products aimed at helping users navigate the product.

PowerSchool is looking for a highly motivated Associate UX Writer to work with our User Experience team!

You will assist UX writers in maintaining consistency across our products and platform. Additionally, you will work with User Research, Design, Product, and Engineering teams to develop UX copy and product documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide product copy and define the design workflow with UX designers.
• Review UX copy and contextual information in mockups with UI designers.
• Work with the product team to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product and the documentation requirements.
• Write easy-to-understand user interface text and online help content for products.
• Proactively update documentation to align with project scope changes.
• Review and provide feedback on AI-generated content.
• Analyze existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities.

Qualifications

Skillset

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-starter with demonstrated initiative. 
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technology, tools, and processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Ability to operate effectively in a highly focused, team environment.
• Working experience in maintaining an online documentation repository using either a Content Management System or a static website generator and hosting.
