Assistant Project Manager – Commercial Construction

Location: Greater Los Angeles, CA

Compensation: $120,000 to $130,000 annually (depending on experience)

Project Type: Hospital & Healthcare – Public Works

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager to support the delivery of a large hospital project in Los Angeles , with additional opportunities on surrounding healthcare projects. This is a high-impact role for someone looking to grow within a premier GC known for its excellence in public sector construction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Project Manager in day-to-day project operations from preconstruction through closeout
  • Coordinate RFI, submittal, and change order processes
  • Maintain project documentation including meeting minutes, schedules, and procurement logs
  • Work closely with field supervision to ensure adherence to schedule, scope, and budget
  • Support subcontractor coordination and assist in managing third-party consultants
  • Monitor safety compliance and participate in safety audits and meetings
  • Ensure timely communication with project stakeholders and clients
  • Participate in project meetings and contribute to issue resolution and planning

Requirements:

  • 2 to 5 years of experience in commercial construction, preferably with public works or OSHPD/HC projects
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Experience with project management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Project
  • Understanding of construction schedules, cost control, and contract administration
  • Ability to work on site in the Los Angeles area

Preferred:

  • Experience on healthcare or hospital projects
  • Familiarity with DSA or OSHPD processes
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus
