Job Title: Admissions Counselor

Location : 2403 Professional Dr, Santa Rosa, CA.

Organization : Center Point DAAC (formerly Drug Abuse Alternatives Center)

Reports to: Intake Manager

Hourly Rate : $28.00 - $33.00 per hour

Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Substance Abuse Admissions Counselor to join our outpatient clinic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in substance abuse treatment, excellent communication skills, and a passion for empowering individuals to overcome addiction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct evaluation assessments and determine admission criteria for residential and outpatient treatment
• Provide direct treatment, facilitate education and process groups, and collect urinalysis tests
• Maintain accurate client files, case notes, and daily records
• Respond to community inquiries, provide written reports, and participate in staff meetings
• Coordinates with medical service providers to ensure clients receive all required medical care as needed.
• Coordinates with mental health service providers to ensure all necessary care and medication is provided as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Valid registration or certification in Substance Abuse Counseling from an accredited institution (CCAPP, CAADE, CADTP)
• 2+ years of experience in outpatient substance abuse treatment or related field
• Experience in intake and admissions, with knowledge of admission criteria and procedures
• Bilingual Spanish/English preferred
• Current certification in CPR and First Aid
• Valid California Driver's License
• Knowledge of evidence-based treatment modalities and counseling techniques
• Experience with evidence-based substance abuse treatment models and an understanding of treatment modalities
• Knowledge of community resources and services
• Knowledge of drug and alcohol addiction and trauma-informed care
• Ability to do data entry into various electronic systems

Physical and Mental Requirements:

• Ability to maintain clear communication, accurate vision, and hearing
• Ability to remain seated for extended periods, with sufficient digital manipulation skills for computer use
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines, respond to crisis situations

Background Check:

• Must be able to pass and maintain fingerprinting and background checks with no violent or sexual crimes, and no crimes involving children or fraud
