IN-DWD-Administrative Assistant (749485)

Duration: 3 Months

Location: Onsite, 10 N. Senate Ave., Room SE302, Indianapolis, IN 46204

Position Overview:
The DWD seeks an Administrative Assistant for the Office of the Commissioner. This role provides direct support to an executive administrator and requires discretion in executing agency policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to an executive administrator.
  • Collaborate with agency/state personnel, legislators, and the public on various issues.
  • Prepare administrative rules and procedures for the executive and/or board.
  • Review practices for potential workflow or expenditure improvements.
  • Manage office services, including records, finances, budget preparation, and personnel issues.
  • Organize the executive's schedule and travel arrangements.
  • Some duties may allow for remote work based on operational needs.

Qualifications:

  • Education & Experience:
    • Master's degree with 3+ years of experience, or
    • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience, or
    • Associate's degree with 7+ years of experience, or
    • At least 8 years of relevant experience, including 2 years in an administrative or supervisory role. Related certifications may be considered.

Required Skills:

  • 8 years of experience as an executive/senior administrative assistant, including 2 years in a managerial capacity.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
  • High level of confidentiality.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in developing department processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Prior government program experience is highly desired.
