Job Description and Duties

Under the general supervision of the Administrator I, within the Accounts Payable Unit, the Accounting Officer performs professional accounting work, such as researching, analyzing, monitoring, establishing and maintaining of accounts and financial records. In addition, the incumbent maintains working relationships with Franchise Tax Board (FTB) personnel, vendors, contractors, and state control agencies to facilitate the accounts payable process needed by internal management and other departments. 

Separation of Duties: The duties of this position include responsibilities covered by the State Administrative Manual (SAM) Section 7280. To ensure proper separation of duties, you may not be eligible for this position if a family member (husband, wife, brother or sister) works in the Accounting Section.

Working Conditions

  • This position is eligible for remote-working within California based on departmental guidelines and operational need. FTB has a minimum in-office requirement of two days per week for all positions including those that are eligible for telework.
