Job Description

An exciting opportunity awaits for an experienced Accounting Manager / Assistant Controller to join a dynamic private equity firm in Brentwood. This role offers the flexibility of a hybrid work environment, with three days in-office and two days remote each week.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the complete project accounting process, focusing on milestone-based billings.
Oversee cash applications and receipts, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
Conduct system audits to verify General Ledger activity within the ERP system.
Handle month-end close activities, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
Perform detailed bank and credit card reconciliations.
Streamline workflow processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Collaborate with customers, addressing inquiries and resolving any issues.
Manage accounts payable and receivable processes to ensure accurate transaction recording and processing.
Provide support during audits by preparing necessary documentation and information.
Qualifications:

Strong experience in accounting functions, with a focus on accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR).
Solid understanding of auditing processes, billing functions, and cash applications.
Expertise in balance sheet and credit card reconciliations, along with journal entry preparation and month-end close.
Proficiency in process improvement strategies and workflow optimization.
Hands-on experience with NetSuite software.
Familiarity with the private equity industry.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with demonstrated leadership skills.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a strong focus on customer interaction.
Analytical and problem-solving abilities to support decision-making.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA certification is preferred.
Previous experience in a similar managerial role is highly desirable.
