Account Executive, Automation at EPIC Systems

We are looking for a team member who is an energetic, hardworking individual with a positive and self-starting attitude to fill this position. This person will be an accomplished sales-driven professional joining our team to represent the company portfolio to CPG, Food & Beverage, Contract Packaging and discrete manufacturing customers and prospects.

Responsibilities
  • Aggressively prospect for new opportunities and expand into key target accounts, primarily in the Consumer Goods, Food & Beverage, or Contract Packaging Industry to grow our Automation business.
  • Maintain existing relationships with current customers, including continuous representation of EPIC’s capabilities throughout the organization.
  • Work with EPIC leadership, commercial, and engineering teams to develop and maintain relationships with key channel partners, e.g., engineering firms and general contractors.
  • Assess and prequalify initial project specifications to determine if the project scope correlates well to EPIC ‘s services and merits further engineering review.
  • Support clients continuous improvement activities by providing consultative support and problem solving feedback during site visits and plant walks
  • Bring specific experience in plant automation such as robotics, process controls, or automated inspections
  • Coordinate internal workflow and communication within EPIC to ensure new projects are smoothly transitioned between commercial and operational groups.
  • Submit sales paperwork and reports as required, e.g., activity reports, forecasts, sales order paperwork, project execution paperwork, single sales objective strategy documents, account strategy documents.
  • Use CRM as the primary tool for data capture and reporting.
  • Meet and/or exceed annual revenue and profit targets.

Qualifications

All EPIC team members share one thing in common; they’re A-Players, that like to deliver excellence while being surrounded by other A-Players. The bar is proudly high, and our people love to raise it further. In addition, the candidate will have:

  • BS degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering (e.g., Electrical, Computer, Software, or Robotics), or related field
  • 10+ years’ experience working in the industrial automation space required; technical (engineering led) sales / sales management strongly preferred. Familiarity with capital projects a plus.
  • Prior experience working with and/or selling to customers in the CPG, F&B, Contract Packaging or discrete manufacturing industry or other market specific manufacturing knowledge / experience required.
  • Lean / 6 Sigma Yellow Belt or higher required (or willingness to pursue)
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and closing deals.
  • Comfort with industrial manufacturing, in particular downstream processes such as material handling, packaging and quality control
  • Ability to sell projects based on intense discovery required.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence decision makers.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills, with a focus on developing long-term client partnerships.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willingness to travel as required 50%+ to meet clients and close sales opportunities. Valid driver’s license and insurance required.
