Based on the requirements of our government contracts, you must be a U.S. Citizen and have or be able to obtain a secret security clearance. This position is on-site , located in Huntsville, AL.

1 st Edge is seeking a passionate and skilled AI Engineer to join our team. In this position, you will play a vital role in developing and implementing cutting-edge solutions using various AI/ML technologies. You will be instrumental in shaping the future of AI within our organization.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following tasks:

• Participate in small, fast-paced groups using Agile processes.
• Conduct research and experimentation to stay at the forefront of AI advancements.
• Collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate AI solutions into existing systems.
• Develop and tune AI/ML solutions to solve real-world warfighter problems
• Follow best practices to architect and integrate AI/ML solutions into our services-based solution
• Some travel required.

Essential job skills include:

• Continuously monitor and evaluate the performance of AI models.
• Strong proficiency in Python.
• Experience with python packages such as Numpy, Matplotlib, Tensorflow, and/or Pytorch
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Prepare presentations and reports to communicate complex technical concepts to a broader audience.

Desired skills:

• Experience with Reinforcement learning and Generative AI techniques
• Experience interacting with STAC catalogs and datasets
• Experience working with MLFlow
• Experience generating ONNX models
• Experience solving optimization problems
• Experience working with intelligent agents

General Requirements:

• 0-10 years of related experience
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
• US Citizenship required

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related
